ABOUT MATTHEW BLACKARD

Matt began his martial arts journey at a young age, beginning in Karate and eventually moving into Small Circle Jujitsu in 2006. In 2008, Matt received his green belt before taking a break and attending college.  In 2019, Matt returned to martial arts, studying Hapkido under GM Deborah Grimaldi, earning his red belt. 

Reconnecting with Small Circle Jujitsu, Matt began training under Professor Will Higginbotham to further improve his skills and continue growing in martial arts. Today, he holds a 1st degree black belt in SCJ. Matt also continues to study Modern Arnis working towards ranking in the M.A.T.S program led by Professor Ken Smith & Professor Chuck Gauss. 

Matt is an Instructor and founding member of Midwest Martial Arts.
