ABOUT ANITA HALEVA

Mrs. Anita is an experienced Taekwondo instructor and co-founder of Midwest Martial Arts Center. Anita leads our children's programs including the Tiny Tigers. Anita is a Kukkiwon certified black belt and she is currently training in Small Circle Jujitsu.

Anita began her martial arts journey at a young age in her country, Macedonia. She studied and competed in Wado Ryu Karate and earned her 1st black belt at the age of 15. She won many gold medals in Karate point sparring and became an international referee. She studied Judo while she attended a 4 year police academy and earned her bachelor's degree in criminology. 

Anita started training Taekwondo and Hapkido in 2016 under GM Deborah Grimaldi of Tiger Martial Arts, reaching the rank of red belt before injuring her knee and being forced to take a break. In 2021, Anita returned home to Macedonia to train with her former Sensei to find he had converted his style to Shotokan Karate. Anita tested and received her 2nd dan black belt in Shotokan Karate that same year.

Anita is a mother of 2 children and has over 6 years of experience leading children's martial arts classes. She enjoys creating fun and exciting ways to challenge students while guiding them as they develop valuable skills.
